20 Mar 2012

We present you some of the culled out monumental glass architectures around the world in brief. These monumental glass architectures have their benchmark in their design, architecture and aesthetics. They greatly portray the contemporary glass architecture that became the decade’s trend and here we go!

Glass Museum at Kansas City

The new addition ‘The Bloch building’ in Nelson-Atkins museum of art gains the credit to be an appealing museum as the frosted glass walls shimmers with beauty and broadly welcomes the people around.

The type of glass used in this building traps the harmful UV rays entering inside the building that could spoil the works and historical treasures inside. Housing  Asian arts widely, this museum has paintings and photographs of American, European & African too.The translucent glass facades used in this building takes this monumental wonder a notch- above certainly.

Glassy Islamic Museum, Qatar

The museum of Islamic art at Qatar is an obvious treasure trove for Islamic arts. With two buildings, this museum stands in pride with five main-storey and 2 educational wings. The spectacular glass architecture design on the northern side of the museum evokes the aesthetics greatly as the 45 meter glass curtain wall enthralls everyone by its ecstatic beauty. Combined with aesthetics and contemporary design this monumental architecture deserves our visit at least once in our lifetime certainly.

Curved Glass Architecture at Florida

Salvador Dali museum at Florida speaks volume about modernization in architecture as the spiral DNA staircase proves it. Housing watercolours, sketches, sculptures and various other works, this museum is embellished by unique triangular glass panels. The glass used allows optimal amount of natural day light into the interiors and making the museum look vibrant. Moreover, the spiral staircase leading to the 75 foot glass atrium adds icing on the cake as the coupled effect of aesthetics and modernization is felt obviously in this region.
