AIM:

Prithwe Institute of Building Biology  (PIBB) established in Pune, is a n autonomus organization dedicated to bringing together the technical, biological understanding and ecological sensitivity to create healthy homes and workplace.

Prithwe is the center for rediscovering Architecture & building Science. The Prithwe Philosophy includes Research, Education  & Consultancy with an underlining holistic approach for healthy living. 

PIBB’s main objective is to educate, the non practiced part of building science which involve genres concerning nature, agriculture, healing of the human body and its habitat. The institute provides space for experiments, study & research on innovative natural building techniques.

Building Biologists & Bau-biology

Building biology (or Baubiologie as it was coined in Germany) is a field of building science that investigates the indoor living environment for a variety of irritants.  Building Biologists and Practitioners consider the built environment as something with which the occupants interact, and believe its functioning can produce a restful or stressful environment. The major areas focused on by building biologists are building materials/processes, indoor air quality (IAQ) and electromagnetic fields (EMFs) and radiation (EMR).

 

Building Biology is a holistic approach to the built environment. It is concerned with the interaction between the built environment and the health of the occupants. This can be in residential, public, or commercial buildings. There are 25 Principles of Building Biology, which govern the decision making of Building Biologists.

 

Course Details :

Prithwe Institute of Building Biology has a technical collaboration and certification from Building Biology & Ecology Institute from New Zealand.

PIBB offers home study, online and practical courses to professional and non-technical health/green enthusiasts. 

The academy model is conceptualization of an alternative, sustainable option in Architecture for all those individuals interested in learning about subjects like – 

  • Environment friendly architecture.

Solar passive architecture, natural building systems, water harvesting, native Indian method of construction, low cost housing solutions, rammed earth construction, bamboo in structural architecture

  • Sthapatya vedas, 

Vedic systems of engineering and architecture, town planning concepts, vedic vastu norms as per Sthapatya veda

  • Scientific vastu, 

Energy vastu interpretation, lecher antenna and scientific relevance of vedic vastu in todays architecture system.

  • Bau-biology

German Building Biology system for healthy living, its relevance in Indian architecture and habitats in tune with New Zealand’s BBE Institute

  • Geopathy

Geopathy and study of under earth energies with relevance to human health.

  • Urban, rural planning & design, 
  • Organic farming, 
  • Permaculture, 
  • Alternative building technologies, 
  • Arts, crafts and holistic healing with respect to architecture 

 

The institute promotes interaction and participation of students from all over the world, involving exchange programs to various international locations. Special sponsorships for students from rural backgrounds are offered to help develop and upgrade local communities. 

3 Modules of Courses are planned which would start operating from December 2010 from our Pune Campus, these autonomous course would be certified by Prithwe and BBE together. We don’t have any affiliation and government recognition at present.

  1. Build your own Eco-house- 3days weekend course
  2. Ecological Design and Building Biology- 16 weeks
  3. Diploma in Eco Architectural Designing- 2 years
