Sustainable architecture is the architectural design technique in which the reduction of environmental impact is main theme while constructing a building. The word sustainable means that “to maintain a balance of any process or state “. Similarly while constructing a building there are certain criteria to be full filed in order to obtain a health environment. Environmental protection, economic and social development, in design, building, maintenance and occupation of buildings. These buildings are designed and constructed keeping in mind the environmental standards. Sustainable buildings will help minimize energy requirements and help reduce water consumption, use materials like glass, wood etc, which are of low environmental impact e.g. low embodied energy and resource efficient, reduce wastage, conserve and enhance the natural environment and safeguard human health and well-being too.
