Glass Block

Glass Block is made up of silica sand, soda ash and limestone. The raw materials are mixed with additives and heated in large tanks up to 2300ºF. Glass block can be hollow or solid. It comes in variety of sizes, shapes, patterns & textures. The present commercial method of manufacturing allows glass blocks with a maximum surface of 30cm x 30cm to be produced. They are used to produce straight and curved interior and exterior walls. Square units are available in 6-, 8-, or 12-inch sizes. Rectangular units are available in 4x8-inch and 6x8-inch sizes. Glass blocks are available in various trims, colors, textures, designs and patterns .It is a unique building material. Used creatively this building material can produce dramatic aesthetic effects. They can be used in railway station, seismic zones or in any project requiring specific technical characteristics. Some interior uses can be contemporary shower stall, a kitchen island or backslash, or as the sidelights at the front door. |
