The Glass has been used for various purposes way back in history, since modern age it has been used widely in Architecture; There are various types of glass that are used for architecture like solar control glass, fire resistance and high performance glass, which are used for different interior glazing applications like glass doors, partitioning, shower screens, balustrades, glass staircases and exterior applications like windows, glass roofing, canopies, conservatories etc. Reducing CO2 emission Residential and non-residential buildings are the major source of CO2 emission which uses more energy to stay cooler. The usage of Air conditioners has greatly increased in last decade. An average room air conditioner operates at 1000 W, causing around 650 g of CO2 emissions per hour. Various studies shows that solar control glass has the potential to cut between 10 and 90 million tones of CO2 emissions annually. The use of Air conditioner in buildings can be greatly reduced by using solar control glass which reduces the incoming heat and allows the natural light to flow in. The various steps that can be carried out by government to reduce the emission of CO2 1. Encourage and, where necessary, require the use of solar control glass in national building regulations for new construction. The various steps that can be followed by masses could be 1.
